| Planning
a wedding in Moab means dealing with businesses
which frequently do not have a website,
and may not be in the habit of answering
email or providing electronic samples of
their work. Be prepared! Requesting to see
a portfolio probably will not generate much
of a response, if any. We highly recommend
that you call or visit the businesses you
are considering. If your calls are not returned,
try again in a week or two. Many times,
managers are quite busy - even in the off-season
- or, they may simply be working on your
request.
Also, do consider scheduling meetings with
general managers a few months before your
wedding. It may mean extra travel on your
part, but a personal visit goes a long way
in Moab and will provide you with answers
and the face-to-face experience you just
can't get via email or phone. And, what
a great excuse to visit Moab again; perhaps
go for a mountain bike outing or hike.
If you are holding
your wedding in a national park, consider
doing a dry run during this trip at the
time of day your wedding ceremony will take
place. This is one 'business trip' you'll
be sure to enjoy! In addition, many businesses
can also refer you to other hard-to-find
vendors who can assist with other aspects
of planning your wedding celebration.
