Destination Wedding Tips - Releasing Expectation

When planning a Destination Wedding in Moab, be prepared for some dear friends and family to decline your invitation. Travel and transportation costs can be quite daunting, especially to a remote area like Moab. Also, please be advised that the closest major airports are in Grand Junction, CO (115 miles away, about a two-hour drive) and Salt Lake City (250 miles, about a four and a half-hour drive). Airport shuttles are available, but run infrequently. You may also book a flight from Salt Lake to Moab on Salmon Air (on a 'puddle-jumper') and then rent a car.

Another reason guests may decline to attend your wedding is that, while you and your sweetie might adore the desert, bright sun, and dry air, these can be rather unappealing to some people. While many outdoor enthusiasts consider Moab to be the ideal vacation spot, pale thin New Yorkers* may need a bit of convincing!
