So, what is it you do, exactly? - As your wedding coordinator, I offer all levels of assistance. This might be just answering a few initial questions about Moab and its businesses, and being on-hand to answer any more that come up. Most of my requests fall into this category. If you have a specific question or two, I can offer leads and suggestions for a small fee to help streamline the planning process.

At a more involved level of assistance, I act as a wedding coordinator, or consultant if you will. This might mean that I make some phone calls and do some more detailed research on your behalf. This is especially helpful for couples with busy schedules, who also might be traveling to Moab from out of the country or out of state, and just need me to do some legwork for them. My fee will depend on the level of assistance needed, amount of time involved, and your budget.

Finally, a very involved level of assistance would be having me at your service throughout the planning process, including your wedding day.

Please note, at this time I am not offering wedding coordination or concierge services.

What experience do you have? - I offer 5 years experience in event planning with Agilent Technologies, where I was an Administrative Assistant, as well as AT&T, where I was a Legal Secretary. Professional events I have planned include international and national team meetings, teambuilding events (woo-hoo!), and informal offsite meetings. I have extensive experience arranging travel, working with caterers, restaurants, hotel sales and catering staff, and providing technical assistance and creating event documentation (agendas, slide presentations, programs, etc.). David also brings 5 years of professional experience to the table (so to speak) as a former Food and Beverage Manager in Vail, CO. He is a creative genius and a wine connoisseur to boot!

In January of 2005, David and I launched moabweddings.com as a way to bridge the technological gap between engaged couples and businesses in the Moab area. Since then, I have assisted many couples at various stages of the planning process. Recently, I assisted a couple from the UK plan their wedding from start to finish...the bride referred to my services as 'indispensible'.

Can I just get some free suggestions as to how to plan my wedding? - At this time I am not offering free, general suggestions other than those listed on the Planning Tips pages. I'd highly recommend that you read the Destination Wedding Tips, where I have specific suggestions on how to plan a wedding in Moab.

What kinds of questions do people ask you? - Some of the specific questions I have answered include:

• What is the best way for us and our guests to travel to Moab?

• Do you know of any other businesses not listed on your site who might be able to help us? (indeed, please ask me)

• Is there a tux rental shop in Moab?

• Where can I and my bridesmaids get our hair done?

• Is there a local costume company available to provide western-theme clothing?

• Who does wedding flowers in Moab?

• Are there any cake bakers in Moab?

• Will you send me a list of officiants please?

• We want to get married under Delicate Arch at sunrise with 40 guests of all ages. Is this a good idea?

• Where can we get married next week in Moab?

• Your website convinced me to hire so-and-so. Who else should I hire? (oh no!)

• Do you live in Moab? (no)

• Can we meet for coffee sometime in Moab? (sure, if you pay me to travel there) ;)

What is Personal Assistance? - Personal Assistance also known as "Day-of Wedding Coordination". This means I am on-hand and available all day on the day of your wedding. Since we still live in the Denver area, I will need to charge mileage for travel of at least 700 miles round-trip. I can be on-hand for an hour, or for the whole day - it's up to you. Let me know what you need, and let's work together.

At this time Personal Assistance/Day-of Wedding Coordination is not available.

How much is this gonna cost me? - Wedding Coordination fees depend on how much you need me to do, and how much your budget allows for.

Concierge fees are usually quite reasonable ($75-100) depending on your needs, wedding party size and complexity, etc.

I am having trouble getting someone in Moab to answer an email/return a phone call. Why is that? - This is one of the great mysteries of the Universe. It does seem to require a delicate balance of patience and tenacity, with occasional outsourcing to Grand Junction. I am happy to 'run interference' for you and show up on a few doorsteps on your behalf, for a fee of course. :) A tip: Business gets done much quicker and easier in Moab when it is done in person.
