Cali Cochitta B&B |

A gorgeous Bed and Breakfast. We held
a brunch buffet-style wedding reception here with
about 20 guests and every detail was absolutely impeccably
attended to. Dave and Kim, the owners, were fantastic
in every way. And, it's close to downtown but without
any noise or tourist traffic. Just wonderful! |
| |
 |
| |
Dave and Kim work their butts off to make this our
favorite B & B in town. Dave made waffles one
morning that were as if we were made by a chef at
the Ritz. Powdered sugar and fresh fruit to boot!
And nothing compares to having a wonderful breakfast
looking at the sunrise on the
Portals! |

CC Flower Shop |
| |
We thought they did a great job on
our wedding flowers. The cost was very affordable
too. |
| |
 |
| |
As of this writing this is the only
flower shop in Moab. We liked our flowers well enough
but think they could use some competition...pricing
was pretty random and changed throughout the course
of our planning, and they weren't very quick to return
calls...overall tho they were very pleasant and helpful.

Good location, reasonable prices, nice
presentation. |

City Market - Bakery and Floral |
| |
Not impressed with the floral dept.
We never could get a live body to answer the phone.
The bakery was helpful and friendly enough but they
had too many restrictions as to what we could and
couldn't do in terms of fresh flowers on the cake.
We did like the cake they delivered for us. One
other note, like too many Moab places, they have
no email access so everything had to be done via
phone - we ended up going elsewhere in town for
our flowers. |
| |
 |
| |
We liked the bakery and thought they
did a great job especially for such a small town.

We loved our wedding cake! We were
so impressed with the bakery. We didn't use the floral
department. |

You know what is great about City Market in Moab
is that they came through for our wedding where another
local business failed - at the last minute. Our wedding
was going to happen the next day when we finally got
to see the wedding cake that another local business
made for us. It was really, really shameful. It was
mis-spelled, and came in a greasy egg carton. The
place we were staying recommended checking out City
Market for a replacement cake, and they did one for
us on the fly
that was beautiful. The staff in the bakery at City
Market was fantastic. |

Fiesta Mexicana |
| |
We held a very informal rehearsal dinner
there on the patio and it was fantastic. Great margs,
service, food, and location. The price is affordable
too. |

I wish they would cater! We go there
every time we visit Moab and it never disappoints.
Fabulous prompt service, great food. We will be back! |

We love it. The best Mexican food in
Moab, in our opinion. |
| |
 |
|
Every trip to Moab one of our first
places we go to eat is the Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant.
Our family is from Arizona....and we know what authentic
Mexican Food should taste like, and for Moab, this
is as close as it gets...which is pretty close. Amazingly
we have never had to wait in line, even in the high-season.
I don't know if they do catering, but the restaurant
would be a perfect place to have a
pre-wedding party. The interior is decorated like
a pueblo and the staff always treats us really well. |

Holiday Inn Express |
|
The nicest of those we have stayed
in, a bit more expensive than others described here.
Super clean, wonderful beds. very pretty, nice staff.
Not as handy to restaurants (not within walking distance
to most or to the downtown). PET FREE. North side
of town. Quiet. |

La Quinta Inn |
|
Standard La Quinta--nice, clean, a
few extra touches in the rooms. Very nice staff. We
are always remembered when we register. Walking distance
to Moab Brewery, a very good, consistent restaurant
(family friendly). Pets allowed. South side of town.

Lost River Trading Co. |
| |
Imports clothing from Indonesia (Bali)
and has an outlet store in Moab. A few of my friends
have found hippy-dippy type wedding outfits there--which
is great if that is what you want, but nothing remotely
traditional and very hit and miss. |

Nice dresses, jewelry and handbags.
Great Main St. location. |

Manna Floral Designs |
|
My husband and I recently got married
down in Moab on October 14, 2006. We worked with Manna
Floral Designs (Kelly Green) for the flowers and were
exceptionally pleased with her professionalism, communication,
and beautiful floral arrangements. She was very helpful
in asking the right questions to help us identify
the type of flower arrangements we wanted. The wedding
was beautiful and elegant because of the flowers.
I would recommend Manna Floral Designs in a heartbeat
for any special events. |

Marianne's Bakery |
| |
Marianne has lots of experience when
it comes to baking cakes...her personality leaves
alot to be desired though. We swung by one morning
for some coffee and a light breakfast just to check
out the bakery. Nice place, but she made us both twitch.
It didn't help too that she didn't return any of several
phone calls I made to her to ask about wedding cake.
Too bad it's basically the only bakery in Moab right
now. But we found someone else thanks to Joelle's
knowledge...yay! |
| |
 |
| |
I thought they did a decent job, but
they didn't wow me or my husband. Very affordable
wedding cakes and the shop is cute. |

Moab Brewery |
| |
They do catering, have a casual menu
including some mexican dishes, burgers, etc. Semi-private
room in the back will seat around 40, maybe more.
Service is always great and we enjoyed most of the
menu items we sampled. Jeeper-and family-friendly,
which is either good news or fair warning! |

Moab Valley Inn |
| |
The pool's a big hit with the kids.
This hotel seems like it is always busy. |
| |
 |
| |
Our family used to stay here all the
time, but in the last year or so the level of service
has really gone downhill. Also, the place badly needs
some renovation. Somehow they still manage to host
lots of tour groups. |
| |
 |
|
Do not recommend. |

Mondo Cafe |
| |
A great hangout or just stopping place
for the action and adventure crowd. Lively and hip.
Coffee and baked goods here are really delicious. |
| |
 |
| |
Too busy for our taste but they have
a lot to offer. |
| |
 |
| |
I called there one time with a wedding-related
question and after a few seconds the girl interrupted
me, told me to call back, and said they had a line
out the door (mind you, this was in the off-season).
We showed up in person and saw her for ourselves.
Although it was actually rather busy, my wife watched
her pick her nose then hand over cash and god only
knows what else. We would never go back. |

Nifty Fashions |
| |
A old Moab store with lots of tacky
clothes. I have been in there a few times over the
years when I was absolutely desperate. Nifty Fashions
does have the franchise for a national tux rental
place. |
| |
 |
| |
I thought it was charming in an odd
way...desperately needs a makeover though. Helpful
staff, and they do rent tuxes if that is what your
looking for. |

Pasta Jay's |
| |
The food was great, I think it is the
only Italian fare in Moab. I would give it a higher
rating but the wait staff has never impressed me -
they're never very friendly but they get the job done.

We tried contacting a manager to talk
about catering but all we got was a call back from
a frustrated assistant mgr, it was obvious the mgr
didn't communicate to her who we were or what we needed.
We found catering somewhere else. |
| |
 |
|
We love their food and the location
is great...always good people-watching! |

Fantastic Food, marginal service. |

Red Cliffs Adventure Lodge |
| |
Absolutely gorgeous venue. Sandy
was our coordinator and she is impossible to get
hold of and she seems pretty scatterbrained. In
the end it worked out okay. The view was spectacular
and food was pretty good too. Wine tasting was just
wonderful. |
| |
 |
| |
Totally overrated. Another Moab business
that relies more on appearance of the property and
natural attraction than service. Why they don't answer
our phone calls and emails is beyond us...so we went
somewhere else. Really disappointing as the property
is really attractive. |
| |
 |
| |
We had a great time there. You can
also get great lodging discounts during off-season.

Red Rock Bakery |
| |
We love this place. Fantastic coffee,
bagels, and fresh baked breads. And they have wireless
internet. Fast and cheerful service. |
| |
 |
|
I can't say enough good things about
it. The bakery expanded its space earlier in 2006
so navigating around is easier now. Wish they did
wedding cakes. The bread is awesome, we always buy
a loaf to go. |
| |
 |

The perfect spot for a quick and healthy
lunch. |

River Canyon Lodge |

Clean, nice, reasonable. Pet/biker/family
friendly. Excellent location just off Main Street
within walking distance to restaurants, downtown area,
etc. |

Sleep Inn |
| |
All the perks of a chain hotel - you
know what to expect, which was fine by us. Friendly
front desk staff and clean rooms. |
| |
 |
| |
We would definitely come back. We happened
to stay here during the off-season and it was very
reasonable. The staff were very helpful and courteous. |
| |
 |
|
It was fine for the price (very reasonable). |

Sorrel River Ranch Resort |
| |
Gorgeous resort but completely condescending
staff. We decided to bag it and get married elsewhere
they treated us so deplorably. |
| |
 |
| |
This is the most expensive venue in
Moab by far. Exquisite location and view but I have
to agree with the comment above, the staff were really
snooty. I would gladly give them a higher rating if
they had treated us better. |
| |
 |
| |
We give them 3 'stars' because it is
so beautiful there and the amenities are really very
impressive. However, we were surprised at how quick
they were to quote us a substantial price for our
reception and then we struggled to hear back from
them after that. The location and features just couldn't
get any better but the level of service was disappointing. |

Sunflower Hill B&B |
| |
Sunflower Hill deserves its impressive
4-diamond AAA rating. Gregg is a wonderful and attentive
host. The property is large - esp. for a B&B -
and managed with the utmost care. Gorgeous rooms and
honeymoon suite. |
