Delicate Arch Trail

This is the widely-renowned arch that you'll find pictured on Utah license plates as well as tons of memorabilia. Sunset is the most popular time to see the arch, so expect quite a bit of company along the sometimes narrow, exposed trail. Bring at least one gallon (4L) of water per person, and listen for lots of foreign languages! This hike is considered strenuous.

There are about 16 hiking trails in Arches National Park, most of which are fairly easy. Call the park at (435)719-2299 or go to the Arches homepage at www.nps.gov/arch for a downloadable map and further information.

Minimum Time to allow: 2 hours
Distance: 3 miles
Elevation Gain: 480 feet
Getting There: Take 191 north for approximately 5 miles. Turn right at the Arches National Park entrance. The trail entrance is about 2/3 of the way into the park. Park fee is currently $10 per car.
